introduction | sucrose benzoate is used as raw materials for synthetic chemical industry, coatings and cosmetics, and as a high-performance rate modification additive for high-performance liquid crystal display film optical materials, holographic photosensitive materials, electronic image recording originals, as well as ribbons for thermal transfer and magneto thermal transfer, electrostatic spray toner and thermal printing ink, etc. Different applications have corresponding requirements on the average degree of substitution of sucrose benzoate and the content of each component to achieve better use effect. |
application | sucrose benzoate is white to white powder and can be used as plasticizer for solid ink, solid coating, thermosetting powder coating and hot printing toner. |
preparation | in a 250ml conical flask, add 40.0g of sucrose (116.8mmol), 60ml of water, 48% 20g of hydroxide sodium solution, stir and dissolve at 35~40 ℃ to obtain light yellow transparent sucrose sodium alcohol solution, and transfer to a constant pressure drop funnel for later use. In the 500ml four-neck bottle equipped with ice bath, stirrer, thermometer and the aforementioned constant pressure drop funnel, add 57.9g(412.1mmol) of benzoyl chloride, control the material temperature to 5~10 ℃, add the above sodium sucrose alcohol aqueous solution dropwise. As the reaction progresses, the material gradually thickens, and 180ml of toluene is slowly added to reduce the viscosity. Sodium sucrose alcohol aqueous solution is added dropwise for about 30 minutes, then 16g of 48% sodium hydroxide aqueous solution is added to the constant pressure drop funnel, 48% sodium hydroxide water soluble solution is added dropwise to the reaction system, and the material temperature is controlled at 5~10 ℃,PH8 ~ 11, and the addition is completed, slowly raise the temperature of the material to 20~25 ℃, heat preservation reaction for 2 hours. After the heat preservation reaction is completed, the temperature is heated to 65~70 ℃, the water layer is removed, the organic layer is washed to neutral, 20ml of water is used each time, and the water is washed 4 times (the washing water is used for the next batch of synthesis or water washing). After organic layer distillation recovers toluene, it is poured into stainless steel tray while hot, and after cooling, transparent glass solid sucrose benzene formate 79.1g is obtained. the average degree of substitution is 3.5, the utilization rate of sucrose is 95.8%, and the utilization rate of acyl chloride is 95.1%. |
